Letter from Stephen Bill

Mad Dog > Production > Actors, Producers and Crew

The following letter, from Mad Dog actor Stephen Bill to Lynne Sweetman is reproduced here with thanks to them both — and the Survivors Newsletter.

Stephen Bill
as Ron

Thank you for your letter. Apologies for the delay in replying, I have been very busy.

I am the same Stephen Bill who appeared as Ron in Mad Dog. I remember the filming primarily for the sub-zero temperatures. I had bought a Commer Camper Van and this seemed the ideal opportunity to sleep in it and save money on my expenses. In the event I drove from London to a very icy Derbyshire, met up with everyone in a very cosy country hotel and immediately booked myself in! So I never ever slept in the camper van, but I did require the services of the cast and crew to push-start it before I could drive back to London at the end of the shoot.

I rarely act now, I have been writing for stage and screen for the last 20 years. With the director Alan Dossor I formed Fair Game Films four years ago. We made The Locksmith for the BBC and are in production with Maisie Raine, a new series staring Pauline Quirke — which is why I am so busy.

Best wishes

Stephen Bill
