Are there any plans for the Survivors series to be broadcast again in the UK?

Neither the BBC nor the satellite-cable station UK Gold has any plans to broadcast the series, in whole or in part at present. The BBC never repeated any of the three seasons of the show after its conclusion in 1977, and the last Survivors' run on UK Gold concluded in April 1998.

Can I buy Survivors on video or DVD?

Survivors series one DVD boxset cover

By the end of 2005, all three series of Survivors had been released on DVD, in three four-disc box sets enhanced with a range of 'special features'.

Series one of Survivors was released in a four-disc (Region 2) DVD box-set by 'DD Video' in October 2003. The company simultaneously released the series on three 'twin-packs' PAL videos, and also as a combined six-tape set in a presentation slipcase.

The second series was released by DD Video in October 2004, with 'special features' including new on-camera interviews from director Pennant Roberts, and actors Denis Lill, Lorna Lewis and Heather Wright.

Survivors' third series was released in November 2005, again in a four-disc DVD box set. This time the 'special features' included a brand-new DVD-exclusive documentary entitled New Word Rising: The Making of Survivors Series 3, and an episode commentary for Mad Dog featuring director Tristan de Vere Cole and guest-star Morris Perry.

A three-series DVD boxset was released by 2 | entertain on 24 November 2008.

The first series of Survivors has been released on video twice before, in the 1990s — initially as a set of six tapes by BBC Worldwide in 1993. The first series was then repackaged and re-released by the independent Sovereign Video company in 1998. Both releases have long sinced been deleted and are now unavailable commercially. Sovereign's plans to release series two and three of the show on VHS eventually came to nothing. Copies of both the BBC and Sovereign video tapes of series one regularly appear on internet auction sites, including e-bay.
