Eric Francis was born circa 1915, but did not make his first appeances on the small-screen until the early 1960s.

Aged around 62 at the time he filmed his sequences for Mad Dog, Eric had amassed an impressive list of screen credits, including small roles in at least ten feature films. After his minor role on Survivors, Eric went on to appear in a large number of genre, detective and comedy shows, until his death in 1991.
